Gazelle S suits a family that wants to begin with one seat and expand the same frame for a second child. The package includes one seat and a basket; the second passenger seat is a separate purchase. The included seat starts at 1 month, not birth. That makes the expansion useful, but it is not the same purchase as a complete two-seat stroller or a newborn-ready package.
Seat direction changes the load limit
The usual single-seat arrangement allows 22 kg, but that figure does not apply to every double configuration. Pages 26–27 of the official Japan manual mark the lower rear-facing seat at 15 kg in the illustrated arrangements; other illustrated seat positions carry a 22 kg label. This matters if you want the heavier child facing you in the lower position. Seat and basket combinations must also follow the permitted diagrams.
A step-free routine makes better use of its size
At 65 cm wide and 12.9 kg with one seat, Gazelle S asks more of anyone who regularly carries a stroller up stairs. It can fold with two seats attached, but the manufacturer’s quoted storage size of 32 × 56 × 74.5 cm requires removing the front and rear wheels. Judge the car-boot fit against how much dismantling you will actually do.
In compatible arrangements, the upper basket takes 10 kg and the lower basket 13 kg. That gives shopping useful space, although the passenger arrangement comes first when carrying two children. Families with level access through the entrance and lift can put this capacity to work more easily than those who need a quick fold and lift on every trip.
