OGK Kabuto FOOMY Kids Helmet

Pros / Cons

Pros

  • The 195 g reference weight and high-airflow design reduce bulk for small riders who resist heavier helmets.
  • A rear dial, buckle cover, reflective rear detail and removable washable pad address repeatable fit and daily upkeep.

Cons

  • The 47-50 cm shell offers little growth room for a child already near the upper limit.
  • The age guide is only approximate; OGK Kabuto explicitly excludes children under one and still requires an actual fit check.

Choose the OGK Kabuto FOOMY XS for a child over one whose measured head is clearly within 47-50 cm and who benefits from a light, well-ventilated bicycle helmet. The 195 g reference weight, rear dial, buckle cover, reflective rear detail and removable washable pad make repeated everyday fitting less cumbersome. Its narrow range is also the main limitation: a child already close to 50 cm may have little useful growth room, and the age guide cannot replace an on-head test. Before buying, confirm the delivered size and SG label. Fit it level above the eyebrows, adjust the straps, and check that the shell neither rocks nor pinches during a shake test.
