Thule Yepp Junior Budget

Pros / Cons

Pros

  • Covers the older 6-10 year gap with a rear Easyfit/rack-style seat instead of a toddler shell.

Cons

  • It is not for sleepy toddlers: the child must sit straight, hold on, and the rack must be rated.

Thule Yepp Junior Budget is not a toddler seat. It is the older-child option for the awkward stage after a cocooned rear seat, when the child can sit more independently but still needs a dedicated perch, foot protection, and a secure rear position for school or town rides.

The rack is the safety boundary. Thule’s instructions set a 6 year minimum, a 22-35 kg child range, and specific carrier width, tube, and load requirements. Do not mount it on an ordinary lightweight pannier rack just because the rails look close; confirm the rack standard or use a cargo bike setup designed for passengers.
