Urban Iki Junior

Pros / Cons

Pros

  • The backrest folds down and the locked mounting frame lets the seat come off the bike without turning every solo ride into a permanent junior-seat setup.

Cons

  • The standard carrier version needs a load-rated 120–175 mm rack, correctly fitting footrests, and spoke or foot guards; it is not interchangeable with the MIK HD or AVS+ versions.

Urban Iki Junior is the standard carrier-mount choice for an older child who has outgrown a cocoon-style toddler seat but still needs a defined place for school or town rides. Urban Iki specifies ages 5–10 and up to 35 kg. Its fold-down backrest and removable, lockable mounting frame are useful when the same bike also serves solo trips.

Compatibility decides the purchase. This version clamps to a load-rated 120–175 mm rear carrier; it is not the MIK HD or AVS+ model. The footrest clamps supplied fit 16–25 mm frame tubes. Use the belt, and do not ride with exposed spokes beside the child’s feet: Urban Iki calls for spoke/skirt guards or its foot protectors. Confirm the rack’s stated load includes both child and seat before ordering.
