The parent value is that it can create a first protection kit for bike, scooter, or skate practice. The tradeoff is that the 49-62 cm range makes the real helmet fit especially important. Before riding, do more than pick the right listing: measure head circumference, set the front edge level just above the eyebrows, adjust the Y straps below the ears, and check that the helmet does not move during a shoulder check or head shake. Do not accept helmet looseness just because the knee pads seem useful.
