Its 14 vents, ErgoKnob dial, washable padding, and built-in visor make more difference in daily use than the colour: check that the shell stays level and the straps remain comfortable while the child looks down and turns.

The important caveat is model history. CPSC recalled specified Scout XS/S helmets sold from February 2019 through March 2023 because they failed coverage, positional-stability, and labelling requirements.
