Retrospec Cricket is a first ride-on for early walkers, not a miniature two-wheel balance bike. Its low feet-to-floor position and four non-marking wheels let children aged roughly 12-24 months practise pushing, steering and stopping with more stability, while a 135-degree steering limiter reduces abrupt turns. At 1.4 kg and 95% pre-assembled, it is easy for an adult to move between rooms or take outside. The tradeoff is developmental: four-wheel stability builds confidence but does not require the side-to-side balance of a two-wheel model. Check that both feet reach the floor securely from the padded seat and supervise use. Plan to move on once the child needs a genuine balancing challenge rather than continued walker-style support.
