Hamax Siesta

Pros / Cons
Pros
- The one-hand recline adjusts up to 20 degrees, and the suspended frame mount absorbs road shock.
Cons
- The frame-mounted version requires a compatible frame tube; check the manufacturer’s fit instructions, rear-wheel clearance and the child’s ability to sit safely.

The Hamax Siesta is a rear frame-mounted seat for families who want a reclining position during rides. Hamax specifies use from nine months to 22 kg/48.5 lb, a three-point harness and up to 20 degrees of recline; its frame arch also provides suspension. The seat is released from its bracket for transfer between compatible bikes, but the bracket still needs a suitable frame tube. Check Hamax’s mounting instructions for tube shape and diameter, and confirm rear-wheel and heel clearance on your bicycle. The age minimum does not replace the child’s ability to sit safely, and the loaded bike will handle differently.
