The smarTrike folding balance bike is for families who carry a bike to parks, store it in a small flat, or need a shorter package in the car. A folding frame can solve those real handling problems while preserving a two-wheel, pedal-free riding stage. The hinge is also the main tradeoff: it adds weight and a locking point that must be fully engaged and checked before every ride. Fit still matters more than portability. Compare the lowest saddle height with the child’s inseam, confirm handlebar reach and steering movement, and make sure the child can lift the bike after a fall. Treat bundled pads as separate fit items; they do not compensate for a poorly fitted bike or helmet.
