Long-running tandem that still makes sense on flexibility and price, not on being the newest sibling stroller

Hauck Duett 2

Pros / Cons

Pros

  • Convertible upper seat and removable lower seat give it more sibling-stage flexibility than many simpler budget doubles.
  • Tandem layout is easier to fit through tighter spaces than many side-by-side sibling strollers.

Cons

  • Older, more utilitarian design gives up refinement, easier steering, and premium feel compared with newer modular doubles.
  • Weight and tandem length still make it less tidy than a normal single stroller in daily storage and lifting.

Hauck Duett 2 is strongest when the problem is baby plus toddler, not twins in two car seats. The convertible main seat/carrycot, removable lower seat, tandem layout, and 6 kg basket make it a practical way to keep two children in one narrower frame while still being able to strip it back to a single for some trips. Independent review also supports the value-and-flexibility case.

The tradeoff is the lift and storage routine. Hauck lists a 16 kg stroller weight and a 96 x 66 x 45 cm fold, so it is narrower than many side-by-sides but not small. Before buying, measure your boot, hallway, and lift, and check the current universal-adapter compatibility if you plan to use an infant car seat.
