Retrospec Rover Plus Single Bike Trailer

Pros / Cons

Pros

  • The single cabin combines a padded five-point harness, weather cover and internal and rear pockets without the width of the double Rover Plus.
  • The aluminium frame folds and the 50.8 cm wheels release, making planned transport and storage more manageable after a ride.

Cons

  • It is bike-only, so rides that end with a long walk still need a separate stroller or another plan.
  • Retrospec does not recommend the coupler for thru-axle bikes; verify the actual rear axle and e-bike maker guidance before ordering.

Retrospec Rover Plus Single is the better Rover Plus choice when one child needs an enclosed tow-behind seat and you value a narrower cabin over spare passenger capacity. Model 6772 is the Basalt single: its 18.1 kg limit, padded five-point harness, weather cover and internal and rear pockets suit planned neighbourhood or park rides. The aluminium frame folds and the 50.8 cm wheels release for storage.

It does not convert to a stroller. Retrospec says the supplied coupler fits most bicycles with 20–73.7 cm wheels but does not recommend it for thru-axles, and asks e-bike owners to check with the bicycle maker. Match the rear axle before ordering, allow extra turning and braking room, and follow the manual for hitch, safety-strap, harness and flag setup. Use a correctly fitted cycle helmet and check that it does not force the child’s head forward against the seat.
