Pros / Cons

Pros

  • The patented reclining headrest and more substantial shell are the real reasons to choose Solution X i-Fix over a simpler budget booster, especially for children who fall asleep in the car.
  • The optional ISOFIX connection makes it feel more planted in cars that have the anchor points, while still remaining usable where they are absent.

Cons

  • It is bulkier and heavier than the simplest boosters, so it is not the neatest answer if you need to move the seat between cars all the time.
  • This is still a pure booster-stage seat, so it only makes sense once your child is genuinely ready for 100-150 cm use.

CBX by CYBEX Solution X i-Fix makes the strongest case if you want a more substantial booster than the lightweight budget options but do not need to pay for a bigger premium flagship. The reclining headrest is the real differentiator here. It keeps a sleeping child’s head in a better protected position and gives the seat a more thought-through everyday feel than a stripped-back booster. If you want a serious high-back booster for several years of use, that matters.

The tradeoff is mobility. This is not the booster you pick because you want the lightest, easiest thing to move between cars. It suits a family who wants a proper everyday booster that can also use ISOFIX where available. It is much less convincing if you still need an earlier stage seat or if your priority is maximum portability rather than a more substantial shell.
