Jané Dual is useful when you want a buckle carrier that opens fully at the front for placing and removing your baby. Crossed shoulder straps, an adjustable headrest and separate leg-opening straps give it a more defined setup than a wrap. This is the current grey/beige Dual, not the older 60242 model or the Dual Air.
The official Dual manual sets a 3.5-15 kg range. Inward carrying is available from birth with correct fit; below 4.5 kg, reduce the leg openings as instructed. Outward carrying starts at six months and requires independent head control. Back carrying starts at 12 months. Jané prefers inward carrying whenever possible and limits the other positions to short periods, so this is not the strongest fit for families prioritising prolonged back carrying.
The weight range alone is not enough: the baby must sit high enough to kiss, with the face visible, nose and mouth uncovered and chin away from the chest. Use only one child and one carrier at a time. These are fit boundaries to apply, not evidence of superior comfort or cooling compared with other carriers.
