The Alpina Carapax JR is worth comparing for a child who rides rougher paths: its shell extends lower around the rear and temples, with a visor and mesh in the front vents. The adjustable fit is more important than choosing by age. Measure the child’s head, confirm the size selected for your order and try the helmet with its straps fastened. It should sit level and firm without pressure points.

The Multi-Fit Light can be added separately. If an included rear light is essential, check the contents of the offer before buying; it is not a standard feature of this model.
