Thule CX1 Child Carrier

Pros / Cons

Pros

  • The single-seat cabin, suspension and 22 kg passenger limit make its intended fit clear.
  • The CX1 platform supports different activities when the correct dedicated kit is fitted.

Cons

  • The seat unit is unsuitable under six months; the manual says to use the harness once the child can sit unaided, and the head or helmet must remain below the frame.
  • Conversion kits are separate; cycling needs its dedicated trailer kit and instructions, and running requires the Thule Jogging Kit. This offer does not establish which kits are included.

The Thule Chariot CX1 suits a family considering a sound older one-seat carrier with the exact kit for the intended activity. Manual 371244 limits one passenger to 22 kg and 111 cm, with the head or helmet below the frame, and child plus cargo together to 34 kg. It weighs 13.5 kg without a conversion kit and folds to 107 × 61 × 27 cm.

Check child eligibility before cycling or jogging. The six-month seat warning does not establish a cycling minimum age; follow the dedicated kit instructions. The exact CX1 instructions say the seat unit is unsuitable under six months and to use the harness as soon as the child can sit unaided. Running is prohibited unless the Thule Jogging Kit is attached; cycling needs its dedicated trailer kit and instructions. A carrier-only offer does not prove either kit is present. Identify every included part, inspect the frame, harness, hitch, tyres, brakes and suspension, and use only on the sidewalks, light-traffic roads and smooth paths specified by Thule.
