Thule RideAlong 2 Frame Mount

Pros / Cons

Pros

  • The quick-release frame bracket, 20 degree recline, and 22 kg child limit make it a practical everyday rear seat when the frame fits.

Cons

  • Round or oval tube dimensions, rear suspension, heel clearance, and saddle height can still make the install wrong.

Thule RideAlong 2 Frame Mount is the more conventional Thule choice when your bike has a compatible seat tube and no suitable child-seat rack. The rear position keeps the cockpit clear, the 3-point harness and shell feel more contained than open front seats, and the recline helps if short naps happen on the ride. Thule lists a 22 kg child limit and a 110 cm maximum child height on its Italian product page.

The buy/no-buy check is the frame. Thule specifies most round frames from 28 to 40 mm and oval frames up to 40 x 55 mm, so unusual tubes, rear suspension, cramped heel clearance, or a very low saddle can make this the wrong version. Pick the rack-mount RideAlong if the carrier is the stronger mounting point.
