Thule Yepp Nexxt 2 Maxi Rack Mount

Pros / Cons

Pros

  • Keeps the frame untouched and uses the lighter padded Nexxt rear seat on a compatible rack.

Cons

  • A rack that carries panniers is not automatically a rack that should carry this child seat.

Thule Yepp Nexxt 2 Maxi Rack Mount is the rack-first version of the padded Nexxt rear seat. It is useful when the bike already has a suitable carrier and you want to avoid clamping a bracket around the frame. The child gets a 5-point harness, adjustable footrests, and the same rear position that keeps steering space clear. In France, check the 22 kg and 110 cm child limit.

The carrier check is not optional. Thule’s rack-mount instructions call for a compatible rack width and load rating, and a rack used for panniers may still be wrong for a child seat. It is a good match for a verified city or e-bike rack; if the rack standard is uncertain, compare the frame-mount Nexxt, a MIK HD-specific model, or a trailer before committing.
