The mint OutdoorMaster ORYX Small is for a child aged five or older with a measured head circumference of 46-52 cm/18.1-20.5 in. This is the small shell, not the medium. Its rounded ABS exterior and EPS liner are intended for cycling and skating; OutdoorMaster states CPSC and ASTM certification for the ORYX Kids model.

The rear dial and two removable liners give more adjustment than a chin strap alone. They are useful when the shell is the right size but the padding needs a closer fit, and the liners can be removed for washing after sweaty rides. Twelve vents provide airflow through the shell. A child already close to 52 cm/20.5 in has little growing room in this size; removing padding is not a way to stretch the stated range.

Choose by circumference rather than the broad age chart. Small is 46-52 cm/18.1-20.5 in, while the manufacturer lists the medium at its own charted size. The shell still needs to sit level and remain stable without painful tightening. Knee, elbow and wrist guards are not included with this helmet.
